Providing a meal for the families staying at SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House is a wonderful way to care for those who are going through a difficult part of life’s journey. By providing a lunch or dinner, you (your office, your Sunday School class, your church, your team, your department, your club, your friends, your family, your restaurant, etc.) make life better for those who are staying with their loved ones. Meals that are brought to our House are shared by everyone there, and keep people from having to leave to go out to eat. They also help our families to save money by not having to go and purchase a meal somewhere else. Any kind of meal is appreciated, including orders from local area restaurants, but homemade meals are the best! Food is prepared and then brought up to SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House (by noon for lunches, by 4:30pm for dinners) where it is left in the kitchen for families to help themselves. Leftovers are packaged up and placed in the family refrigerator to be eaten later as desired. You or your group can sign up in two ways: Call the Hospice House at 252-777-4201 to find an available day to bring a meal. Go online at Meal Train to sign up for a day to bring a meal. You will need to create an account to sign up online, but once you have done so you can browse through our calendar and choose a date/meal that works well for you.

When the Crystal Coast Hospice House was built, it was decided there would be a list of names displayed at the Hospice House titled Honor Roll of Donors. This list is updated annually as additional donations are provided which would add new names and raise those names to higher levels as they provide additional donations. Below are the levels. The SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House was planned, designed and built entirely with private donations or grants. This facility is the Crystal Coast community's generous gift to its residents, families and neighbors who have needed or may need its very special care. In order to continue to provide the same quality and comfort in the facility that was offered when it opened and to inform residents of the benefits of hospice care that may be found there, our community's continued support is so important. A Beautiful Tribute The SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House Sand Dollar Memorial provides a beautiful and lasting opportunity to remember loved ones and honor friends. Located inside our House across from the Nursing Care Station, the Sand Dollar Memorial features a beautiful coastal beach scene. Personalized, engraved sand dollars are permanently mounted on the Memorial and are highly visible tributes that will be enjoyed by patients, families, friends and visitors. We invite you to dedicate a personalized, engraved sand dollar and create a permanent legacy and beautiful tribute to a person, group or organization that hold a special place in your life. Your $1,000 donation made to the SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House Sand Dollar Memorial for each personalized sand dollar will help us to fulfill our mission to provide an inpatient Hospice Home to our service region and ensure exceptional care management and perpetual funding for facilities, services, programs, and future expansion. The Memorial garden overlooks the beautiful ponds with fountains and features a gazebo to sit and enjoy the beautiful campus. Personalized, engraved bricks are permanently installed in the Memorial Garden or Pathway to be enjoyed by patients, families, friends and visitors. Gifts made to the SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House Memorial Brick Campaign will provide for upgrades, improvements, ongoing repairs and support for programs that enhance the care provided at the hospice home. Volunteers Thank you for your interest in volunteering to support the SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House. Volunteers are VITAL to all aspects of the SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House. Without volunteers, we would not be able to provide the facility or the care that offers comfort and dignity to our families, neighbors and friends during such a precious time. Volunteers are the HEART of our efforts. There are two organizations that you can work with, Crystal Coast Hospice House (CCHH) and Home Health and Hospice Care (3HC). You may volunteer with either one or both. If you are interested in volunteering, you may complete the contact us form or complete the information linked below and mail to either address listed or drop them by the facility. CCHH is the nonprofit organization that owns the facility and property. We raise public awareness and provide education about hospice, develop programs to support patients and families, and raise funds to maintain the facilities and to make continued investments in the building, grounds, furniture, and equipment. CCHH holds public awareness, educational, marketing, and fundraising events - as well as keeps the community informed through mailings, presentations, web-based communications, etc. We also decorate the House for Christmas and other holidays, provide patient comfort items, review special requests from our operator, 3HC, and support other joint programs with 3HC and community civic groups to enhance our area's access to and experience with inpatient hospice care at SECU CCHH. CCHH volunteers are not involved in direct patient care. You may also drop it off at SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House. 3HC is the nonprofit organization that operates the Hospice Home and handles all staffing, including volunteers, that are involved in patient care. Sharon Baugus serves as the SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House patient care volunteer coordinator. Volunteers serve a tremendous role in the operations of the hospice home, and volunteer hours must make up 5% of total staffing hours for certain certifications. Special training and a commitment of 2 hours per week are important components of volunteering to fill direct or indirect patient care needs that qualify for the 5% needed. Please join this important volunteer force by completing the 3HC Volunteer Application and return it to Sharon Baugus by email, or mail it to the address below, or drop them by SECU CCHH. Once all the forms are received and reviewed, Sharon will schedule a training session and TB & drug screenings for you so you can work with patients and operations. With over 30 years of experience in the Home Health and Hospice care sector, and as the owner/operator of the "flagship" hospice home - Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 3HC brings ample experience as well as a unique caring philosophy that promotes dignity, love and comfort while meeting or exceeding all standards of care. Crystal Coast Hospice House is always grateful to accept donations from Third Party Fundraisers! If your group or organization would like to raise money for our House, we would love to know about it. Just give us a call or send us an email to let us know what you are doing, then we can work with you to promote your event on social media. We are also happy to attend if possible! Past Third Party Fundraisers include: Each year, students from the Croatan High School Hospice Helpers Club hold their Lights of Love Luminary Display in Magen’s Bay of Cedar Point. This annual event raises thousands of dollars to help Crystal Coast Hospice House, with over $11,000 being raised in 2024! Each year FMC holds their Palm Sunday Lunch to benefit Crystal Coast Hospice House, and raises and average of $8,000! The Coastal Conservation Open Inshore Fishing Tournament This annual fishing tournament, held on November 5, 2016, raised $2,100 for CCHH! Town of Pine Knoll Shores Fishing Tournament The first ever fishing tournament for all Pine Knoll Shores residents, Town staff, and Town volunteers raised $334 for CCHH!

This Christmas Season you can honor your loved one with a personalized sand dollar ornament to be displayed on the SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House Christmas Tree. Each sand dollar ornament is $10 and will be personalized with your loved one's name. There are several ways to place your order: 1. Stop by the Hospice House and complete the form and leave with your donation. 2. Mail a check to CCHH PO Box 640 Newport, NC 28570 with a note to include the names you'd like added 3. Go to Donate Now and in the comment section, add: Sand Dollar(s) and the name you'd like written on them.  We recommend completing the order forms with a check to avoid credit card fees. Sand Dollars will be available for pickup at the Nurses Station on January 5th-31st for anyone who would like to have theirs. We are not able to mail sand dollars.
