Changes To The
2020 Gingerbread Festival

December 5-6, 2020

(The Festival Is Still On!)

The COVID-19 pandemic, and the public safety measures surrounding it, have led us to review this year's Gingerbread Festival. Over the last 8 years, the Festival has grown into a "sweet" holiday event for our community and we are working hard to make this year no exception. The event is our largest in-house fundraiser, requiring months of preparation and promotion.

Therefore, for the health and safety of our staff members, volunteers, and guests we've made some important decisions about this year's event:

The 2020 Gingerbread Festival will happen!  The best way to describe our approach and vision for this year's Festival is a drive-through Gingerbread Festival of Lights. We are moving the Festival from the Civic Center to the SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House. It will be a blend of past traditions, such as Crab Pot Christmas Trees for sale, set among a spectacular display of Christmas lights with new ways to use technology to execute other traditions, such as the Gingerbread Competition and silent auction.

As the logistics of our hybrid event are worked out, we'll let you know about volunteer opportunities. Support from volunteers is always crucial to the Festival's success, and while this year will be different, support from volunteers will still be essential.

Here's What We Know So Far:

  • We will NOT hold the Gingerbread Festival at the Crystal Coast Civic Center.
  • We WILL be selling Crab Pot Christmas Trees and, likely, other items online.
  • We WILL have a Gingerbread Competition.
  • We WILL have an innovative way for kids and families from all over to have a "Gingerbread Experience."
  • We WILL have entertainment for everyone to enjoy.
  • We WILL offer exciting new opportunities for our sponsors to gain exposure.
  • We WILL need everyone's ingenuity and support to make this year's event a success!
